Our preseason meeting is with our players and parents. This helps with parent attendance. It is great for the parents to hear the player expectations as well players to know what is expected out of their parents.
Pre-season Player and Parent Meeting
Introduction: introduce myself and coaching staff, what they coach, and how long they have been coaching.
Program Expectations
1. Become champions: To be a champion you have to prepare like one. Being a champion is a lifestyle, where effort and enthusiasm are put into all aspects of life. Coaches and players are expected to behave like champions.
2. Fill the stands: There should be two sections that are always full in the stands on Friday, students and faculty. Students will want to support the football team because of how they are treated in class and in the halls by the players. Faculty will enjoy having the football players in class because of how they conduct themselves in their classroom with respect, leadership, and hard work.
3. Develop Integrity: Everyone sees football players in the halls and in the community. Our football players with show respect, be trustworthy, The team is top priority, the goal of the team is to win. Anything done to not help the team’s goal will not be tolerated.
4. Improve Everyday: So many teams never get better after their first game. This is not acceptable, teams that make playoff runs improve every day at practice.
5. Physical: The team that is more physical than their opponent will have the best chance to win. Players will be taught how to use their pads safely and effectively to be physical at their position.
6. Compete together: Each play every individual has a battle to be won, and when all 11 players win together the play is successful. Competition will be practiced all year round so everyone is ready to win on Friday.
