MAT DRILLS – Tuesdays
Stay off the mat unless you are in the drill!!
No more than Six athletes on the mat at a time
Before each drill, all athletes are standing at attention with their hands behind their back
The next group to go will have their toes up against the mat, not on the mat.
The Coach starting the drill will clap the group onto the mat, athletes will jump onto the mat, running in place and making noise.
The Start Coach will clap to finish the first group and start the next group at the same time
When you are finished, you will forward roll, Bear Crawl toward the end of the mat, and
dive out to the end of the mat
Pop up, running in place for the End Coach
The End Coach may point up for a leap or point down for an up/down
The End Coach will point off the mat both ways. Sprint off the mat in your direction.
Now become a cheerleader for the remaining groups, up and down the sides of the mats
When the last group is finished, all athletes will gather at the end of the mat,
in front of the End Coach, get a break, and line up, ready for the next drill
