Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Our high school team typically has solid skill players. However we have a difficult time finding quality O-Linemen. I like the idea of a misdirection offense. Which type would be better for our type of team.....the Wing T or the Double Wing? Thanks for your help.
Coming from a Single Wing coach, I'd like to answer, "Single Wing" as the SW is the greatest formation for the misdirection. However, with the two choices mentioned, I'd go with the Wing-T. The Wing-T allows for a better separation of receiver/defender due to the boot-option series. Also, it's easier to install the 'Jet Sweep' series - a real staple of any Wing-T team nowadays. While both the DW and Wing-T work on angle blocking, the Wing-T - in my opinion anyway - allows for more of a passing threat...even if you only throw the ball 10 times in a game.
