Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I think that 220s, 100s, 60s or 40s with short rest intervals are good.
Interval sprints are good as well. I use a mixture of each depending on the capacity of the athlete. As the athletes capacity increases, the distance can increase and the rest interval can decrease.
Also, in cases where fat loss is an emphasis, interval sprints are GREAT.
What I am using this year is something I got from the University of Michigan. It is called Mteabolics. If you wee to breakdown all your game films and analyze the number of yards per play, per quarter, per game, you would come out with an average distance that between 2 - 7 yards. This program simulates game like running conditions. Metabloics is run with very little rest, as in a series during a game. The difficulty comes as all the play series are linked to gether. The program is broken down into three phases, each phase has four quarters. All distances must be run full speed and only rest during the alotted time.
6.5 minutes per quarter. repeat the above for Quarters 2, 3, and 4. The ultimate goal is 4 quarters in 26 minutes. You can take longer that 60 seconds between quarters, but no more than four. This is very demanding on the kids, but they like it. We are doing this 2 days per week. If you want Phase 2 and 3 let me know. eknott3@hotmail.com
You need to be done in 7 min with each quarter, with an ultimate goal of 28 min. total time. Now with this phase don’t allow more than 2 min rest between quarters.
