I accidentally posted this on the 30 stack defense board. So if you see it over there, it is the same post.
We are using a very simplified version of the 30 stack this year for our youth program. We work with our local HS, and we run their offense and defense. So this year we are using the 30 stack as our base defense.
After watching film and studying the defense, I think with some simplification, and some minor variations we can run this defense at the youth level, close enough to the true 30 stack, to give our kids some introduction to it for when they move on into HS.
Can anyone give me some ideas on how we could use it at our level. One of my initial thoughts was that we could move the Spurs to 9 tech's and run it like a 5-3. However, I really like the idea of having the Rob and Lou LB's responsible for the B Gaps. We see mostly two tight end sets with two or three backs in the backfield.
