My 3rd & 4th grade team is half way through our season, and we managed to slip away with one win the first week. Since then I haven't even been able to score and offensive TD. My Defense has to score for us. My Line is small, and very unexperienced. Also I don't have a star back with break away speed. I'm tring to introduce SAB to my line. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to introduce SAB or is there a better blocking scheme I should try? This is my first year as a HC and our last 2 games have been very frustrating. I can't even manage to get a play off with the D Line in my back field. The Def is a 6-2 and I've been running the Wing T. This week I started going double tight to take care of the weak side DE. I geuss my main question is how can I stop penatration from a 6-2 with a small O Line? Thanks,
Its not a real suggestion as far as SAB goes but running inside on a 6-2 is a PITA. So what we have done is gone to tight splits and then everyone block down to the playside. release the TE on the playside backer and run Spead option. I have also done a little called triple option where I tell the QB to give or keep. With the tight splits you get the short corner and getting a a back or two on the corner against a DE and corner should be good.
