Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Do you think a center can be asked to block to the 4 man side where there is 2 DL and 2 LB? Can he come to the line and block that way because I noticed in your example of the nickel blitz from another post, there are 2 DL and 2 LB's weakside but only 2 DL and 1 LB strong with the Rover in the 8.
My reason for asking is if you are in a 3 wide one back set, have one of your bigger flankers motion and check out off of the Rover, Center would identify 4 big guys weak and block the 1 tech DT with the weak OG looking for the 30 tech to blitz. Weak OT would block the 5 tech DE and RB checks out off of 8 tech Will. Strong OG and OT would combo the 3 tech looking for the 30 tech to blitz. TE has 7 tech DE and motioning flanker could check Rover.
I can't recall EVER having to block my Center to the SPLIT END SIDE (of a 3 WR set) when in "BOB" protection. First of all - NO ONE actually BRINGS 8 vs a 3 WR set (because they have to account for 3 WR's & a TE = FOUR RECEIVERS). No one I ever played (High School or College or Semi-Pro) left one of those 4 totally uncovered.
SO - they are going to bring 7 at most. In my explanation of Nickle Blitz - we were in a 2 TE set, & we checked the protection to OPPOSITE the side the F/S aligned (because that put 4 men in the protection BACKSIDE where the F/S aligned - which is the side 4 are coming from, & Center always blocks AWAY from the call when uncovered). They CAN'T bring 4 from the other side because the TE (or H) to callside is TOTALLY UNCOVERED.
I am handicapped in that I do NOT believe I can explain this vis email. Please phone me today at 804-740-4479 (between 3:45 & 10:00 PM/EDT). I can fully explain it via phone!!!!!
