I am persuing the possibility of coaching in Vermont. I am currently in Florida. Don't know much about the state of football or coaching in Vermont. Anyone want to give me some insight? Any information would be appreciated.
I looked into teaching/coaching in Vermont out of college (2000). The teacher's salaries are among the lowest in America with most teachers starting in the low 20s. In terms of quality of football, it is very poor with very few football players going to division 1 schools. However, it is a beautiful place to live. Burlington is an amazing city and Vermont is the home of Ben and Jerry's. The mountains are amazing and the lifestyle is quite laid back. Just some input from a Pennsylvanian.

Charger, It is a great place to hunt and fish, if your not a city boy! Even if you are, one trip to a trout stream or a hunting weekend for big white tail deer will hook you for life! I thought you just got where you are, you did well, why you leaving? Not trying to be personal, but thought you had a good year.

I coach in New Hampshire (about 40 min north of Boston), and our football is actually pretty decent here (we've had a few nationally ranked teams over the last 5 or 6 years), but Vermont football is not particularly strong. Our All-Star Team plays their All-Star Team in August every year, and we hold probably a 90% winning ratio. I have coached camps in Vermont before and the kids are very raw. But, they are also good kids who love football and are very willing to learn.
I won't be leaving where I am any time soon. I want to get my master's degree and some more seasoning. But I do plan on moving to Vermont in a few years (I am from northern New York State originally). I love South Florida football...just not South Florida.

I am currently coaching and living in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I was born, raised and played football in Ticonderoga, NY about two hours north of Albany and about and hour from the Canadian border. Are you from there, Coach?
