Best High School Defense

I really don't feel there is a best defense that can blanket all high schools out there. There are areas that are almost exclusively run and then there are areas that really like to air the ball out. Any defense can really be effective if the kids tackle well, persue to the ball and love to hit. That being said, I like the 4-3. I think it can be very solid against both the run and the pass. There are positions that you need to be very strong at in order for it to be effective though. 1. A MLB who is smart, can tackle, and has a nose for the ball. 2. A good strong safety who can tackle like a LB and run like a safety. 3. One strong cover corner. Those are "needs". Maybe I'm partial b/c it's what I played in college, but I think it's a very versatile defense and can give you a lot of options and looks. Just my opinion.

the defensive ends are changed to strong safeties and will ususaully play off the ball to adepth of 5 yds sometimes more. stunting and pre snap stemming is usually a big part of its success. much better imo than the 53 which i have run because of the ability to move around more.
