Specifics of blocking the jet sweep?

The jet series is one of the main series in my offense. "Jet" is a motion within any offense and jet sweep being the staple play in the series. We run wing-t and this along with the rocket motion/sweep series have been the two hottest things in the wing-t type offense recently. The jet sweep blocking we use is:

SE- Runoff- Stalk corner/Crack 1st defender inside off los(playcall)
PSHB(slot)- block force player(#2 outside B gap)
PST- blocks 1st defender on or outside B gap(usually 5tech.)
PSG- pulls outside PST looks for 1st defender to cross face(LB or S)
C- Reach-On-Backer- Cutoff
BSG- Cutoff downfield
BST- Cutoof downfield
TE- Cutoff downfiled

QB- Reverse pivot- handoff to HB at frontside A gap- Fake to FB- Bootleg *Snap at backside B gap(timing)
Ballcarrier(HB)- jet motion full speed- receive handoff- run for hash, numbers, sideline
FB- dive for trap fake- block LB/1st defender through

Ex. Jet Sweep right vs. a 4-4 defense the SE would block the corner, the RH(slot) would block the OLB, the PST would block the 5 tech., the PSG pull outside the PST and look for FS or MLB scraping, C reach 1 tech. or go downfield cutoff, Backside G, T, TE go downfiled and cutoff pursuit. LH receives ball and runs hash, numbers, sideline- read RH and SE blocks. The beauty of the jet is the opportunity to not block anyone from the B gap to the inside(3 tech and back).

The compliments on this play are wonderful trap, belly, down, waggle, reverse, criss cross, etc.

Last weekend at a clinic I also picked up the cd "Coaching the Fly Offense" by Mark Speckman from Willamette University as someone suggested in an earlier post. It was $75 but has five tapes on it. I haven't gotten through the whole cd yet, but it was well worth it for me. He's under center, but I think the concepts will easily apply and work extremely well from the gun. He's very thorough - has classroom, drills and game footage.

Yes, our base plays. For instance with the back lined up to the right and the motion going right, we could run the jet sweep with the RB leading the sweep, the zone away and the dart to (with QB keeping). That's three attack points. I make fun of the wing t all the time but it sure looks like the same thing. One of my opposing coaches and good friend sometimes tells me that I'm running the wing t, I just don't know it. We'll play with some other things too, but don't want to add a whole new package, just the sweep and run the stuff we know off the motion for misdirection and false keys. Willamette does run three variations of the sweep, which I like, but we'll see how things go and determine if we need all three.

The thing I'm wrestling with right now is the motion calls. We try and keep everything to one word for both formations and motion and I'm running out of good "R" and "L" words. Our formations are rex/flex (twins), ronnie/louie and rambo/limbo (trips open/closed), ram/lion (wing), rip/liz (no back) and are easily adjusted to personnel groupiings. We do tag for "bunch" sets and "over" for unbalanced sets. We're going to add an additional no back set this year to get personnel in the right place for the jet sweep and add new motion terms in. We've also already used the following for our personnel packages - jets (10), skins (11), big (12), base (21), mud (22), navy (30), army (31). We don't use all this, but it's in the playbook.

Any suggestions on how you guys call your motion would be greatly appreciated. We try to keep things down to one word for simplicity and because we're no huddle. We need to identify three different people to motion - the back and our two slots. For the slots, we want to be able to motion across, turn the motion back, orbit, and motion out. I'm not looking forward to playcalling, but I'll adjust. It's going to get more complicated with the motion.
