1. Competitiveness in the conference:

As tigerone said, you must have talent, so without talent it can be tough. From my experiences in coaching high school football players its now how good you can make the superstars, it is how good can you improve the avg. joe's. The majority of all our teams are made up of avg. joe's so we need to improve their abiltiy to block and tackle. The game is won by making blocks and tackling the football. If you can improve and be good maintain good discipline with blocking and tackling you can compete in your league. It is not just x's and o's.

2. Player development programs:

You must lay out a calender for the interview process and show them how you are going to organize and run your summer player development. Here is an example of what a 5A school in the metro does each week during the summer. All players report M, T, Th, F at 8:00 AM. On Mon and Thur the Offense lifts from 8:00 to 9:00 and then they are on the field for speed, agility and quickness training from 9:00-10:00.
The defense on Mon and Thurse will be on the field Mon and Thurs having position break down and team periods from 8:00 - 9:00 and then they lift from 9:00 to 10:00.

The schedule then flip flops on Tue and Fri mornings. Def lifts first and then on the field for Speed, agility and quickness training and the offense has practice and then lifts.

This team does very well each year and makes a run to the dome almost every year and has won at least 1 state championship.
