I'm trying to put in a defensae that I can only describe as a 7 Diamond with some changes. It has only 4 lineman with two corners. 7 D's frontline lineup is something like E S TNT W E ours is C E T T E C this is the base any how we call it a six diamond this gives us 4 linebackers one on the outside shoulder of each end and 2 inside LBRS and 1 safety. I coach a youth football team we mostly see sweep so I believe this will shut that down pretty good or it should. My question is have any of you ever seen a D like this or ran one what did you call it how did you label the D backs S L R W or SS S M W I dont suppose this really matters but I like to know what I'm talking about when I put somthing in new. Also what do you think the specific reads of the backs should be and gap responsibilitys and why.If we shut the sweep down and I think it will good reads in the middle will be a must. Sorry the Question so long I'm still learning does any of you know of any sites that explains D in depth. Thanks Coach H
