Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
How do you guys adjust to trips? We check to cover 3 and walk our SOLB to split the differnce between #2 and #3. Our two ILBs shift a gap toward trips and WOLB stacks backside offensive tackle at 4 yards. Trips side CB has third, SOLB has flat, ILB to trips has hook/curl, ILB away from trips blitzes, and WOLB has RB in man coverage. FS has middle 3rd and backside CB is manned up on number one. I would great appreciate any suggestions. Many thanks.
Coach,We play it a number of ways.1--We will bring the other OLB over to the trips side,or 2---We will get into a "50" front, walk our DE out in front of the inside receiver with the OLB over #2 and CB in front of the outside receiver playing cover 3.The DE will jam the inside receiver and then rush the QB,or will drop into hook zone. When DE drops,ILB usually rushes. When DE rushes ILB gets hook zone.Another thing we do will be to walk our ILB over the inside receiver and play with 1 ILB.We usually jam the front so all the running plays bounce outside. The last thing we do is jump into a 3-3-5 or 3-4-4 look.I hope this helps.I don't ever like sitting in 1 defense.I think when the offense knows where you are going to line up,they have the advantage if all things are equal, whereas if you give them some different looks,confusion/hesitation occurs in the offense and the Defense has the advantage.
