Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I think the purpose of the option would be to want a defense to do that. If the DT sees the FB getting the ball and goes at him, the QB pulls, same as DE/OLB on attacking the QB, if they attack the QB he will pitch, if they attack the pitch he will cut it up.
A great faking QB and good reading QB would be very effective vs. that style, IMO.
Wonder what happened to our posts (those that posted) on this topic early this morning? They were here (At least some of them) and now they have disappeared. Whats going on?
Coach Easton PS: I have noticed this a lot lately, has anyone else?

"stop trying to hit me & hit me."
Coach, one answer is anything that works for you is the right answer. However, I would not do this for a few reasons. We have 2 teams that run option in our league and 3 wing t teams that run belly, down and trap option. We run the 44, but we stem and stunt into many various fronts. In our league, our main goal is to take away the fullback and the qb. To me, one of the longest plays in football football is the pitch in option. The OC's in option football are extremely good and have an answer for everything. we are not very big, but have excellent speed outside. So we play to our strength. We change the responsibilities almost every play and make a 16 or 17 year old kid at QB and on the oline, make the decisions. This has worked very well over the last 15 years. We do slow play a lot with the DE's. We also disguise our coverages and use them to confuse the QB. Play action has got us a few times over the years and HB pass off the option. We figure this takes them out of their comfort zone a bit. We go in the game thinking we know we can't shut them down but will make them work for everything they get. We stunt and stem to a 50, various 40 looks and roll the coverages. In the secondary, although we don't play pure man, we do play some match up with our corners on #1 and get a safety in the box who is not accounted for many times. We have not lost to an option team in a long time. Luck had a lot to do with it too. For some reason we have had terrible weather against these teams over the years too. Lastly, one of my personal goals is to take 1st down away as much as posible. If you study the teams tendencies, you will pick up a lot with option. Problem is you have to find a way to stop it even if you know it's coming.
I really think the system just screwed up, have you noticed it? There were several posts on this thread this morning, came back to it and they were gone, at least from my screen.
