Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We would call it a 30 or 40 Gut but basically the RB would aim for the outside hip of the OG or as you call it, a vertical push for the inside zone. What I am trying to figure out is how are BASE and COMBO calls called and where along the offensive line do the calls start?

Youn never pull a covered lineman with you if to adjacent linemen are covered they will never work combo together on the inside zone scheme. Coach CAmpbell
Coach Counter Gap, We begin our Inside Zone scheme with the TE. If the TE calls "Base" then the T knows that there will be no Trey call. The T then makes the next call based on the alignment of the D. This works back through the line. I believe that this is what Coach C has explained before and I believe it is in one of his manuals. (not sure however) It worked very well for us this year. The TE would base a 6 and 9. We would Trey a 7.
Coach, Like Coach C said above, you never pull a covered Lineman to another combo. However, lets say that you have a "0" - "4" - and "9". In our way of thinking, the TE would call "Base" and base the 9. The T would call "Deuce" and would combo the 4 with the G. In most cases a "4" is going to slant one way or the other and the Deuce call will take care of the slant. There are also times that you will want to run an Ace combo on a 2 tech. So, yes you can combo head up defenders.
