training the VOM

We presently do clock lunges and single leg squats to improve this area on a soft medium. Any other ideas??

Coach Kramer,

Snatch-grip deadlifts (narrow stance/wide grip) off a box work great in training the VMO. Also front step ups and bulgarian squats work great as well.

An oldie but a goodie that I use from time to time is the old barbell hacksquat (bar behind calves and you basically deadlift it).

What is the advantage of doing unilateral movements on an unstable surface as opposed to doing them on a stable surface?
