Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
My offensive line coach needs to really do a better job focusing on fundamentals in terms of foot mechanics, body position, etc. He's more of a "you get that guy and you get that guy" sort of a coach. Had two kids at tackle that should have been able to execute the full reach on sprint out, but were just fundamentally unsound in trying to get it done...combo techniques, pull techniques were also a problem. What sort of recommendation in terms of a structured progression of teaching fundamentals would you suggest...we will be replacing all but one of our linemen this next seaon and we need to get them started ASAP. Appreciate your help...pdow

pdow27 - As Coach Pastrick mentioned repetition is key, use drills that have carry over this enhances your reps. Determine how many plays incorprate the same types of footwork for you offensive line and make this primary to all secondary plays. Use terms and techniques for the passing game that memaics the running game. An offensive linemans playing base is essential, never compromise your playing base. Do drills that emphasises this, make your players work at near game like speed while still working to maintain their base. A coach should put much detail in the off-season to help this. Jump rope, duck walks, kick slides, etc. Look forward to taking this further. Coach CAmpbell
