Coaches, I'm looking to go to strictly no-huddle next year, and was curious to see what has worked for you in the past, and what you will be doing differently. I really like the idea of coming to the LOS, setting the defense, having the QB look to the sideline, then audibling or running the called play. What is the best/simplest way of doing this? Thanks!
It is best to have a combo of signals or verbage and wristbands. IMO. call out formation. then signal in play via signals, verbage, or wristbands.

We often discuss the advantages to no-huddle, but what are disadvantages aside from having to be in great physical condition? I am not concerned about that one.

IMO, on the HS level, the single most disadvantged point is the getting the play desired by the coaches to all 11 on the field. No offense intended to Govertical, but as a very long time QB coach I would never turn the offense over to a HS level QB no matter how good he is. Now, to let him call a series in a game that is in hand, or something of that nature, absolutely I would do it as a confidence builder to the QB. But, the entire game become his responsibility to call, no. I once worked in a system where the HC called the play, as the OC and QB coach I waggled in the play to my QB as the other position coaches were doing the same. He then ran a "check with me" if he wanted to change up at the LOS. Once we had the system down pat, it wasn't all that bad really. When I left there however, I never implemented it again. Just my opinion as always.
