Pulling the OG and OT or even pulling a slotted TE instead of the OT. Are there some simple rules for what the guys who DON'T PULL should do? How do they know if they are to block down or on or maybe even go to a linebacker?
One thing I've used, since we do a lot of zone blocking, is to tell all other linemen to "zone toward the pull"...so if you are running counter to the right, your center, rg, rt all "zone toward the pull" which means their blocking angles are to the left. Begin with emphasizing the zone concept and then progress, once they start understanding the concept of the play, to combos, etc. Works pretty well when introducing the play.
Can you give me an example of what you are talking about? For instance, say you have an over front with a 9 and 3 strong and a 1 and 5 weak. OG and TE pull.

A simple rule for counter is down, down and around ( playside down, backside around ). Blitzes pertain to secondary, Dogs - Linebackers and Stunts are for defensive linemen. Coach Campbell
What I mean by "blitz" is any stunt. If their is someone in your inside gap you block them. If no threat then you have BSLB but you will combo up on DT to LB level. The only way you block the PSLB is if he stunts to your inside gap while on your combo block.
