Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Big surprise, but for us it's the Belly Series (double dive):
Belly (1st man) Belly (2nd man) Belly Keeper Belly Trap Belly G Belly Zap (WB iso for 2nd man) Belly Counter (to a WB) Belly Handback Belly Option (run like midline or inside veer, depending on defensive alignments) Belly Pass (TE pop off of 1st back fake) Belly Pass (WB and TE flood to playside) Belly Pass (TE and WB drag against flow)
Those are our favorites, but we also sequence a Lead Series with the following plays based on Iso action:
Lead (base iso) Lead Draw (delay iso) Lead Counter (backside guard pulls and traps with backside tackle, FB, or H-back leading through) Lead Reverse (backside guard pulls and leads slot or wing around the opposite side) Lead Option (double option-similar to a speed option) Lead Cross or Lead CrossTrap (FB counter or counter trap with the TB faking lead opposite) Lead Pass (various route combos...often with a TE delay into the flat) Lead Draw Pass (usually with some type of Dig-Post combo) Lead Waggle Pass (like the Wing-T waggle, but off of our Iso action)
1. inside zone 2. fake inside zone run boot play action (4 different routes) 3. fake jetsweep run inside zone away 4. jetsweep fake inside zone 5. inside zone fake orbit motion reverse 6. fake inside zone and run reverse off of orbit motion 7. fake inside zone and sprint draw pass set (vertical package or home run routes) 8. From Gun fake jetsweep, fake inside zone and run QB Dart 9. Zone/Bubble check with me (QB reads leverage of Alley player to determine the play {zone or bubble screen})
