This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
has anyone tried to run a shovel pass from the double wing. i have been considering it, nut most teams play us with 9-10 men in the box. is it possible or are there just too many men hanging around the los. and if you have, or thought about running it, what is the best way to block it?
We have run the shovel pass from waggle, sprint out, jet waggle, & belly bootleg action & it has been very good for us. We block it with our normal 32 power blocking.
coach JT. I can't seem to figure out how the shovel pass would be installed in the double wing system? Do you use markham style doublewing ? Most of the double wing here in san joaquin co. use a very compressed formation (zero) line splits and a "sniffer back", with this type of formation, I could only assume that the Qb would shovel to the play side wingback with the FB staying in pitch distance to the QB or the backside wingback getting in pitch relation with the QB. Would'nt this create a type of option of sort?
Just looking at coach Wyatt's Dynamics IV tape this morning and he shows it on there. Blocks it just like 47 Counter...looks like rip motion with a-back and QB is taking a "thunder" drop, shovels forward to c-back. Have run DW before, but never used this one myself. Good luck.
I thought about doing it, in wing -t terms, by blocking like 32 power, but the right wing and full back show 38 power, and having the left wing come flat down the line underneath. qb would fake 38 power, boot right and shovel off the right d- end to the wing coming underneath. does this make sense? jt
