Circle The Wagons Circle the wagons is a descriptive term used for running plays that go outside and for the sprint out passing game. Circle the wagons Intel's the full reach by an offensive lineman using drop step crossover footwork. This term alerts the offensive linemen to drop step their play side foot while working to rip their backside arm through the play side jersey number of the defender.
Jerry, Thanks for the info. on sprintout pass pro. What are you coaching points for repsonsibilities for each lineman. What are you aiming points for the playside tackle, and rules for a DE who strings it out.

Will ask our offensive linemen to use a dropstep and bring their backside arm through the playside jersey number of the down defender, if they come uncovered then hinge back looking for anyone off the back edge. Coach CAmpbell
Are you doing any play action like a RB counter fake before sprint out. The sprint out is something new to our offense. We have always been a shotgun drop back team, but this years quarterback doesnt have the arm of those of the past. We will do alot of gun counter, counter option, qb counter, and we feel like the counter fake on the sprint out will help hold linebackers and DE. What are your thoughts on the run fake before the sprint out.
