Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coaches, especially those who know how Carson-Newman does this, what is the footwork for the Quarterback and Fullback on midline from split backs? I await your responses.

Coach, Our backs lined up directly behing the guards with their heels at 4 yards from the ball. Our QB pivots on his backside foot, and clears his front side so that he is facing the read man. The dive back takes a 45 degree step towards the center and runs up the center's back (always making progress towards the LOS). Once he clears the LOS, he veers out at a 45 to utilize our double team on the ILB (PSG and PST). The TE arcs to the alley player like inside veer, and thus, if the QB pulls, we gain ground and option the end man on the LOS. We ran this play against a nose guard with success as well. Center and BS-G combo to BS-ILB, and PS-G and PS-T still double PS-ILB. This was a great addition to our veer offense because we were able to attack every gap.
I believe Homer Rice's book on running the splitback veer had a play called a "cut" option, which is similiar to the midline option as described in the previous post Might want to see if you can locate that book Coach Cella it might be the best source of info for you.
