Does anyone run the Wham play vs a 3 or 4 technique? I'm thinking of running a play where the Offensive Tackle and Tight End will fan block the OLB and Defensive End. The Wing will come down inside and Wham block on the 3/4 tech. I want to fake the inside veer to draw the 3/4 Tech and the inside linebacker inside then give the ball to the Tailback running downhill behind the Wham block of the Wing and the fan blocks of the Tackle and Tight End. Does anyone run a play similar to this? I've seen it drawn up in books but haven't personally done it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot, History 10
We run a play very similar to this. We call it "Belly Wham" and it is part of our Belly Series. Against a standard 4-3 front, we would run it exactly like midline option, but we would WHAM block the 3 technique with the WB coming on an inside-out trap.
Fake the FB in the A gap. Have your TB take a lateral timing step to playside, and then run to the butt of the playside OT, taking the handoff. You can also run this from a Wing-T 100 or 900 set.
I actually got this idea from you. I've been studying your double dive series in great detail for a while. I was hoping you would reply to this so I could get your opinions. Is there any way I can email you or call you? Thanks a lot, History 10
Yes actually my brothers college called that play wham. They ran it off the stretch look. They called the trap on the NT or 1t a Wack play I believe not 100% sure.
If you are talking to me, I'd be happy to try and help you out.

Maybe you can email me some of the questions you have, and if I can help, I'll send you my home phone number and a good time to call. I'll be busy later tonight, but I'm generally free in the 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm range.
Send an email and I'll get back to you (if you were indeed talking to me. If not, I'll be a bit embarassed...hehehe)
