Is there a reason why 7-step drops are NOT used much anymore?

Counter gap with the seven step drop use the BOB principles. I use the "V" of the neck for my landmark when coaching my tackles. The jersey "V" will dictate the first step og the defensive end thus giving the OT his first initial step on his kick slide. Coach CAmpbell

I BOB protect, but know I don't have a hot blitz read like I did under center. QB can see the field better too.
