Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I understand that you've been around the semi-pro game for many years and understand the unique challenges that coaching at this level brings. (lack of practice time, attendance issues, etc.) I am trying to put together a practice format for my offense. Right now I have an offensive staff of myself, an offensive line coach and I'm trying to get a 3rd assistant.
I am NOT the HC so I only have control AFTER our team stretches and does agilities, etc. I'm thinking of breaking down the offensive practice like this:
INDIVIDUAL PERIOD- --Coach:o-line Coach --Personell: O-linemen --Drills: 2 on 2's zone, counter blocking --------1 on 1 pass blocking
GROUP PERIOD- --Coach:o-line Coach, RB coach --Personell: O-linemen, QB, RB, FB, TE --Drills: run play as group, pass pro as group vs. air
--Coach:off. Coordinator --Personell: QB, WR, TE, RB, FB --Drills: pass plays as group vs. air
GROUP vs DEFENSE- --same as group but vs defense --pass - 7 on 7 --run o line vs d-line
FULL OFFENSE vs FULL DEFENSE- --run and pass vs full defense
This is prototype that I'm expermenting with using. It is not final, and I was wondering how you did things, and are there any thought or suggestions you might have.
thanks, Danny
