Actually, West Coast Republican that is living in a conservatives nightmare of a town called Eugene (OR) home of the hippie nation, Grateful Dead concerts, Hemp Festival, and Country Fair. I personally like AHH-nold and his antics. California was getting too into themselves and Oregon was trying to be like California.

here's a 'new' one....

I'm not sure and can't find clarification on WHY this is a 'good idea', but apparently a few of the boosters have got together and recommended we ELIMINATE football in the Public (feeder) schools and totally opted to a PAID junior football program 6th - 8th graders.

Somehow this is supposed to afford us better coaches and uniforms.....but we're an inner city school and I have NO IDEA how any of the 'athletes' we rely on every year (and are our hallmark) would ever PAY to PLAY as 6th - 8th graders.....

"NEW IDEA" .....don't know what the 'future' holds...

but in terms of FOOTBALL, I'm afraid there is nothing 'new under the sun that hasn't been done before...'

I know the 30 stack is all the rave and the Urban Meyer Zone Spread is all the rave now.....but it's cyclical

Out here in Eugene OR the local middle schools do not have any athletic programs, except for track. All the sports activities are ran through a local non-profit foundation called KIDSPORTS, or throug AYSO, POP WARNER, AAU, LITTLE LEAGUE, etc. The worst part of it is that the foundations place such a high focus on the kids they tend to burn out us volunteers (<<<< notice not paid) from ever coaching with them again.

Coach, you just paid for a very expensive education, or will be paying for it for a long time to come, and they want you to "volunteer' If it were the local little league, etc. that is a different story but if you are coaching at a public school, YOU DESERVE TO GET PAID. The Bible teaches us that "a workman is worthy of his hire". In other words you get paid a days wages for a days work. WE have all volunteered 1,000 hours or a lot more to various enterprises for the kids, but you have to make a living. I would get out of that place in a hurry!!! I love the steelhead fishing at klamath Falls, but sure would not want to coach there!
