Do you guys align your QB's 5 yards from the ball or 5 yards from the centers heels? Last season we aligned 5 from the ball and I was just wondering if anyone did it from the centers heels and why? Also on the Zone Read play we align our S Back a 1/2 yard deeper than the QB. This works very well for that play but do you adjust his alignment on Pass plays or traps? We run a lot of gap protection and it would certainly help us to cheat the back up a little. But of course then you deal with tendencies. Damn defense! On passes & Quick traps I plan to line the S Back even with the QB. I am hoping that they might not notice it since we are a pretty quick no-huddle team & we don't give defenses a lot of time to examine our formations. Any comments on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
