Jet or rocket in the gun offense

Hey coach. We run what we call rocket/lazer out of the gun.

It is a jet. we just named it that to help our kids know which way to go. lol

We run out of doubles, and inverted doubles

jet
zone-t into and away from the jet--with the qb or rb
counter gt-into and away from the jet-with the qb or rb
speed option-into and away from the jet


What do you have in mind?

we just call it rocket
we don't run the elrod rocket or jet stuff from under center

i would like to, but not yet


as for the gun stuff,

we start with the motion guys 6 yards out from the ot

we give the foot to send them, then start the cadence

the snap for us times out right outside the ot's butt. the qb just has to see it, after a while it is a feel thing

qb catches it while stepping forward, then hands it on the jet

or fakes it to the jet and runs himself on our counter gt, or zone t

or he can catch it, and then get right into the zone-t and counter gt read position for those plays either way

blocking rules are simple, the rb on the jet has the pslb over the top
the OL run our zone t play basically, the psot tries to reach the psde

if we see a hot 8 (we do not use the rollover wing t count stuff, we refer to force player like a rover as 8's) then the back takes him first, and #2 then takes the psl over the top

we if they are doing this as their main answer to stop the jet, we run bunch mesh off of the same action and destroy them on the edge, or we just bubble the heck out of them until they cut it out

another thing we do to control the hot 8 is to invert the doubles so that they almost have to have a man up on him instead of splitting the difference

this formation also gets us into the basic bunch formation after the jet gets there and we can then run mesh, arrow, etc.
