Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
i heard a coach talk at the u of illinois clinic that they liked to midline this with the center just washing the nose playside if he slanted. it was the fb responsibility to read this. we midline 40 fronts and iv a 50 with 4 techniques which i'm sure most of you do. would you run load option vs. the eagle 50 look? we usually ran a g sweep, iso, or some sort of power, or ov vs. this front.

Why not run outside veer with the TE releasing onto the ILB and the PST and PSG comboing the 3 technique to backside LB? The QB is to the mesh point so quickly that the NG should not be a problem.
Is it strictly a double eagle, or are they bringing the SS up on the TE like a 46 bear front?
Same as lochness. We will also run anything off-tackle b/c we feel can wash down the 3tech and kick out the DE with the FB. Outside veer is also very good.

thanks to all, like i said we do run some outside veer and off tackle vs this front. do any of you try to midline it? the coach at the u of i clinic said they love to midline this front. i can see it working with a lot of reps. my only question is if the fb cuts backside doesn't the backside 3 have a chance of making the play if the bsg is going to mlb with the psg?
if you block it like this would it be considered a midline or a load option?
pste- fold with tackle tracking first lb to fsafety pst- kick out dend psg- middle lb c- take nose wherever he wants to go bsg- middle lb pst- reach and scramble block 3 tech

TIGER ONE, Is that hitch from play-action, or 3-step drop. I can't remember what college I saw run OV playaction, but they hit the slant for big yards. The QB took the snap, took 2 or 3 steps down the line like OV and fired.
Take your pick! Either work well. If your a true option team, or at least run it predominately over the other segments of your offense, I always advocate it off that action. Just my way.

I suggest outside veer, but midline will work if your guard takes at least a three-foot split, I would double the nose and the offensive tackle bases the inside linebacker.
