shotgun guys how much do you rep snaps?

Get as many reps as you can, whenever you can. Whenever I get a chance, I take our center and go get some snaps with him. I grab anyone else around to be the QB. The key is we want a pendulum swing type of snap. I don't want the wrist or elbow to bend. I want the ball to come straight at the QB not in an upward path (eliminates the dreaded over the QB's head snap). I show the center the tempo & location of the ball we want by having him watch me underhand toss the ball to thew QB. This last part I just recently started doing and it worked great. He was able to visually see what I expect from him. They really don't get to see their snaps so this seems to work. Also, make sure he takes some type of blocking steps after the snap otherwise you are not simulating reality. I'll then put someone on his nose, in a shade etc. One thing I am going to try & do this year is put a helmet & pads on him at the earliest possible date because last year our kid snapped great in shorts & a tee but soon as we put equip. on him it took him a while to adjust. This happended in summer camp. I almost _____ my pants at the thought of having to scrap the whole Shotgun idea after months of work. Luckily he adjusted and we only had one real bad snap all year. During the season we have the centers with the QB's as much as possible. During specials the centers are with the QB's, both our center & QB were one way players last year so they became like a tandem. I'm sure others will have some great ideas on this topic and I'm interested to hear them, but this is what we do as far as the shotgun snap is concerned.

ADDED THOUGHT: Have ALL THE CENTERS WORK WITH ALL THE QB'S, PUNTERS, HOLDERS. To just work the first team guys leaves you TOTALLY UNPREPARED IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. Just my way.

How do you coach your center? I've heard some coaches tell the center to snap his hand back to the bend of his knee in order to insure consistency. Anybody try this?
