Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I'm with you, I haven't run it but I think it's a kick(short step backwards at an angle), replace (where the other foot was), kick. I think it's used in 5 step to stop rushers that align wide and speed rush the tackle.
What I think it is, if I am correct is a step back with the right foot. Replace that step with the left foot and kick the right foot outside to set up your base. Is this what is it?? Is that the correct technique?

Your "kick" depends on how wide the rush is going to be. For example, when "kicking" to a defender who is just a bit more than an outside shade, your kick step is almost parallel to the LOS. Of course that depends on your blocker's speed and the defender's speed. We call this kicking at the "A" angle. The extreme is an extremely wide rusher. Here we may have our tackle get into a stance with his outside leg way back. We will then "slide-kick-slide" - slide to his outside foot, then kick slide. We call this the "C" angle. It is important not to heal kick, but instead to maintain separation between the feet when kicking. The slide part of the skill is to keep the foot as close to the ground as possible, in order to be able to stop the slide quickly in order to handle a defender who may twist under the block. Picture the pass blocking stance that you have your kids in. The object on the kick slide is to keep that stance as much as possible. Thus don't over kick or heal kick. I hope this helps a bit.
So then its step with the outside foot, replace with inside foot and kickslide with outside foot? I mean I have seen it done but I dont want to teach anything that is wrong.

The kick-slide goes directly from your stance. Kick with the outside foot and slide with the inside foot. What you describes is pretty much what I talked about above. From a stance with the foot dropped back, Slide-Kick-Slide.

The "V" of the neck is the area right under the chin of the defensive end. The "V" of the jersey is an indicater that tells your tackle which step the end will take first. Remember tackles are responsible in straight drop back schemes for pushing the width of the pocket and the guards and center for the depth. Tackles can give ground where as guards and center must be more aggresive with trying to keep their defender on and near the LOS. Coach CAmpbell

Coach no matter what angle you kick slide at or landmark that you use make sure your tackles keep an inside shoulder lean which we call shoulder in the hole to cut off that defender trying to get inside with his rush. Coach CAmpbell
