Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have a DL that has a terrible habit of hopping out of his stance. I emphasize gaining ground on the first two steps so they can get into their OL as fast as they can. We do different drills that emphasize 1st and 2nd step. But this DL always hops out of his stance when making contact. If anyone has any suggestions on how to correct this please let me know.

Make him fire out into a teammate while going through the shoots. Have the blocker provide resistance against the defensive lineman. He will either learn to keep his head down and fire out low or he will have headaches the entire season.
put a weight around his ankle that he hops with first, so that he cannot do it as he will have to drag it. When he gets used to keeping the foot low to the ground, the hopping will cease when the weight is removed. If that doesn't work, put him on the basketball team, they like guys to hop round all the time!

Coach, We've all had kids from time to time that have no idea what their body is doing when they THINK they are doing what you've showed/asked/coached. I wonder if you have video taped what he does and then show him the correct way and go back and forth until HE can explain the the smaller pieces of a good one and a bad one. It worked with my girl shot putter who went from a nobody as a junior to 9th in state as a senior (I made her watch me and and some of my serious football players lift and then told her that she was gonna lift like a man!)
