I am curious as to how you 4-2-5 guys align to this formation. If we see 2 TE 1 Back (Ace) we put our D-line in 7, 3, 1, 7 shades but against 2 back I don't like the way lead and iso look. We only see this formation in short yardage or red zone but I would like to hear from others if they have any ideas. We have talked about bumping our OLB down to a 9 and the weaskide DE to a 5, but I'm not sure if thats the answer either unless our OLB can get plenty of reps at a 9 tech. Thanks for any info you might have
We are really a Wide Tackle-6; we will play a 1 and a 7 on both sides of the formation. We'll play a kind of robber coverage with the secondary. In fact. we like it when teams line up like this; it lets us put more bodies in the box.

that is exactly how we defend that personnel package! 22 personnel does not bother us at all, because it does enable us to defend the run w/ten. everyone but the strong corner is plays run-first.
"don't think you are, know you are."
"stop trying to hit me & hit me."
We have run a 7, 3, 1, 5, walked up the OLB and manned up the TE with the WC. Your OLB has a new responsibility but you may already have him walk up sometimes anyhow. Another way to go is to simply even up your front. We will play the Ts in 3 techs or we may put them head up and play slanting games.
Question for Zulu and Oneback. What is your Robber technique for this situation. I see Robber used so much but in many different ways. What are their reads, techniques?
