I was wondering what the going rate for purchasing hoops from football companies. Are there any companies that sell them? For coaches out there, would you be willing to spend $30 per hoop? Any kind of advice will greatly help. Just very curious at what price would coaches look to buy em. Thanks

Go to Home Depot and buy 1/2 PVC pipe they come in 10 ft in length. Buy 3 to make one hoop, cost $1.09 each. By 3, 1/2 PVC couplers about $.20 each. If you don't any pvc glue get some but it is not necessary. Total cost for a hoop is less than $4.00 if you buy PVC glue under $5

If I was looking to make some hoops and sell them to coaches in our area would you say $15 per hoop then would be reasonable to sell. It is just a summer idea to make a couple extra bucks (not a killing) and get out and meet area coaches.

No way I would pay for hoops that take a trip to Home Depot to make. A cheaper version of a green ball on a stick is something more coaches might want to get. Most companies are charging a ton of $$$ for them.

The hoops serve as a device to simulate the puss rush to the QB, but more importantly, a technique for the D-line (DE) to rush the edge hard. Develops a players ability to run the edge as fast as possible with the shortest amount of distance. You will find hoops on almost every college and NFL team.
You can set up two hoops side by side and have the player do figure 8's and then tackle and strip a dummy
You can have competition drills with one player starting at the first hoop and the second player at the second player at the second hoop. The players do figure 8's with the 1st man trying to tap the 2nd player
The coach can stand inside one hoop with a shield and as the player runs around, the coach punches the player with the shield and the player must rush arund hard and use his flipper and rip through the blocks- simulates OT bass blocking a DE
You can set up two hoops side, with about 3 yards separation and then another hoop on the side (splitting the distance, almost forming a triangle; coach stands in this one) the player does a figure 8 and then as he comes to the middle of the two he rushes the hoop the coach is in and the coach will give a direction and then block him like the drill below until the DL player strips/tackles the QB dummy.
There are so many creative things you can do with hoops.
Coaches, I understand how easy it is to make em, but this my point: There are also many coaches out there who do not use resources or have the motives to go out and make em. Is every high school coach in America taking advantage of this great website for resource? Hell no, and all you have to do is type in an address. We all are on this site cause we are motivated to learn more and yes, buying hoops would be a waste of money for us. But I imagine that there are many coaches out there who by-pass the thought because of other reasons. I appreciate all your input on this. Thanks coaches
