How about those White Sox?

Watch out I am a HUGE Cubs fan. The worst 24 hours in my life (not really but close) was when Bartman wrecked game 6, then the Cubs lose game 7 the same night we lose by 1" 33-32 to our arch rival. After our game I finished watching the Cubs game at school. Needless to say at the end of the night I was totally depressed. I hope in my lifetime the Cubs win a World Series. Shoot I would be happy with the pennant right now. It was 1945 the last time that happened.

I will credit the Sox, and I will support then in trying to win the AL Central and the AL pennant. I might live in MN, but my sports loyalties are all Illinois.

I'll give you a "YEAH DAWG" for the Red Sox. As a Cubs fan the Cardinals are my swoarn enemy so I was quite happy to see the Red Sox win. Plus like many other people I love to hate the Yankees. The Red Sox give us Cubs fans hope. If they can do it so can we. (Maybe?)

Harry Carrey was a great announcer. But "Holy Cow" I think a lot of games by the middle of the 6th inning he might be, he could be... a little intoxicated. My favorite line ever was when Hector Villenueva was batting once back in the early 90s "You know Steve (Stone) Villenueva spelled backward is pronounced..." and he proceeded to try and pronounce it. Classic. Then he would make comments about the pretty co-eds in the bleachers. Again classic Harry.

My guess is soon this thread will die, but be revitalized in October when the Cubbies are playing for the World Series. (LOL).

What else can go wrong with the Cubs? Now Prior breaks his arm!! AHHHH! What's next Arimis Ramirez breaking his leg sliding into 2nd base? All you Yankees fans: OUR TIME WILL COME. The time will come when the evil Sith Lord Steinbrenner and Darth Giambi will fall. Just remember every team goes through down times. Football: The 49ers of the 80s and 90s....are now the team with the highest draft picks. The Bulls? Not even gonna go there...it still stings me. Remember the Cubs and White Sox were THE teams 100 years ago. It is just the law of averages catching up for the last oh 90 years.

I was referring to when John Shave was playing professional baseball at the double AA level, not high school. Reread the post and it didn't seem clear to me that was what I meant to indicate.

Bobby Cox: Solid manager if not the best in baseball right now. His teams are always in contention, and always seem to have a great pitching rotation.

Yankees: The Yankees are the team everyone loves to hate. Personally I do not hate the Yanks. I admire them. Like Al Davis says they "just win baby". I cannot really blame Darth Stienbrenner since to my knowledge he has never broken a rule. There is no salary cap. They are in the largest sports market, have oodles of cash to spend etc. I wish the Cubs, who do have some dough to blow would spend it on some players so I can witness a World Series win before I get to old.

Twins: I live in MN, and follow them by default. I will say I do like them, not a big fan, but they do win with "small ball."

Cubs and luck: Eventually the Cubs will win it all, then heck will freeze over, the the apocalyps will be upon us.
