Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I'm looking for some drills in order to help our running backs attack the hole and find daylight. Some RBs are more focused on just hitting the hole, but I want to stress the other options if the hole isn't open. Any help would be great!
Only 2 options on the inside zone from the Utah train of thought. Get vertical or cutback under the scraping LBers. Bouncing outside is not allowed.
We have a drill, borrowed from Nebraska, where the backs are aligned normally, pause to get the ball after the QB gets it, then attacks between two long bags on the ground (simulates the hole) and then reads me holding two long pads upright. I will at the last second shift the bags one way or the other, the backs read this and then cut appropriately.
I have a tape that might interest you...Hofstra Inside Zone RB drills with cut ups showing the results of the drill. I would be willing to trade for the Utah DVD out there if you have it, or perhaps the Bowling Green playbook from Coach Meyer's last year there. I'm really interested in the Florida Spring game, but can't get the coach who has it to respond to an email. Perhaps he's on vacation or something. Drop me a note and see if we can make a deal.
