Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
The 3-3-5 defense caused us a lot of problems last season. The different looks, stemming and stunts, really seemed to mess up our blocking shemes. We are a spread team that tries to keep a good run-pass balance. If anyone has some thoughts as to how we can improve our success against this defense, I would appreciate it.
Coach, seems like it might be easier to plan and call against, if you approached it as if you were going against a 5-3 look where the 2 rover backs are could be considered as ends when they walk up to the LOS. If they don't blitz, do they usually play in the flat zones? If so, you could just look at is a 50 drop look that they try to throw at you. Also, have you thought of keeping 2 backs in the backfield just in case they do send more than you would have to block in some situations? That might help. I'm a senior in high school, and have only seen this defense on TV from collegiate teams that use it, so, I may not be making any sense here. Please fell free to let me know if I made any sense, or if I'm totally off the wall in what i'm trying to say. I'm always wanting to learn new things about the game.
