I am looking for ways people use their video editors. Do you use them only for coaches film study, make tapes for the players, etc. ? If you do make films for the players, what do you include? We have had the ProScout editor for a season now, but I don't think I used it very effectively. Any help is appreciated.
Here are a couple ways we use TD video with our kids during the season.
Video playbook that the coach will use along with the overhead of the playsheet so the kids can see the play diagram as well as how the play, is properly executed. We do not hand out playbooks to our kids. They are given a binder with blank playbook sheets and they are to take notes when we introduce a new play, formation etc...
On our opponents we will put video clips on tapes of their special teams, top 3 run plays, top 3 pass plays, and their base defense alignment with coverage and blitzes. Our kids can check the video tapes out each night and we watch them as a team during the season.
We also make a 5 min. hi-lite tape each week with a clip from a Movie that may be motivational "Gladiator for example" that also goes with our theme for the week. We show this at our team meal on Thursday nights.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. We have learned that kids will spend more time watching video than they will reading their plays in their binders.
