I'm looking for some ideas in goal line situations with the gun. This is the first year we are using the gun option and I like it so far. However, goal line is something I'm conflicted on. Are you under center 5 yards in? Do you have a different package for the goal line? Or do you use the same stuff? Any ideas would be helpful!
We use some of the same stuff but we may change formations with 3 TE's in the game. We will be double tight with the 3rd TE set as a wing off of a TE and we can motion him or to the other side. We run zone and stretch with the 3rd TE leading the play.
We are looking at adding this for the fall. We picked it up from the 5A state champs in Oklahoma at a clinic this summer. Qb in the gun with the TB to the TE side. Sniffer back aligned in B gap. They ran QB stretch with great success last year. The OL would zone block, the TB and the sniffer would lead the play reading the TE's block. If he reached the DE they stayed outside, if the TE stretched the DE they lead up into C gap with the QB following.
