Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We have began running the speed option from the gun and was looking for the rules for the offensive linemen. I have heard just to outside zone it up and pitch off the last man on LOS. The problem that occured was that my linemen would double team playside backer and lose back side lb in confusion. I want them not to be confused about the play. What I have done is take that outside zone idea and told my playside backer to yell LBs number and number back. This signals who he blocks and causes other linemen to know they are numbering back 1 backer on their calls.
I don't want to have the tendency that we call number back on option any solutions to this?
I do know that with a 50 front with 4 wides they would all zone it up and pitch off outside backer.
This is mainly for the 4-3 and 4-2 defense out of the gun.
You are either coaching it or allowing it to happen!</blockquote>
