Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We see a number of teams this season that like the Double Tight BONE (we've seen two already). They are hurting us off the C gap with the Double Lead. Our defensive front is lined up towards the Strongside in a 6i, 3, 2i, 5 with the inside LBs at a 2. What are your suggestions? We have had some success sliding into a 4-3, with a change of personnel, from our 4-2 but we need some help stopping it from the 4-2.
Not sure if you're seeing the first lead back kick out your end or whether the TE is down blocking/double teaming on him but it might help to move your OLB/S down onto the TE. That would move your DE to a 5 tech. If you cover up the G, T, and TE then you will eliminate any double team on your down lineman and keep your playside ILB free unless they leave the DE or OLB for a RB to kick out. If they do try to kick out with the RB then have your defender replace the down block and wrong arm the kickout to spill the ball outside where pursuit (Corner, Free Safety, ILB) can get there. Hope this helps.
Play 3's,5's,and 9's.Walk up your OLB's and you have a 6-2 look.OLB's have no pass responsibility.CB's and FS play cover 3 and reroll the secondary.Play 2's and 6's and stack all four LB's behind them and let the stunting/blitzing begin! If you are overmatched, these are great equalizers.
