Coach the Gun manual that Coach Lansdell and I will have completed this next week will be very indepth and will vbe the complete installation of a gun offense with both the running game and passing game included. Lots of info. Coach CAmpbell
I received the Shotgun manual last week. I have read the first 60 or so pages, but haven't gotten into the real nitty gritty yet. It looks great so far!
Great job on the Gun Manual! It's the first of your manuals I've purchased but I doubt it will be the last. I love your zone rules and pass protections. I reccommend it to anyone who wants some ideas they can actually use right away without overhauling their entire system. Will you guys have a tape on the offense coming out?
If you don't mind me asking, what are some of the sources you used in developing the offense? I'm assuming Northwestern, but were there other sources as well? I'm very interested in this type of offense.
I am a second year head coach of a program in the building stages. Last year I had a Fresh team, this upcoming year I will have two team (f and JV) next year a full program. I will be implimenting your gun offense this year, however because of my lack of experience I find the passing game info to be complex. Should I be concerned about teaching this to my High school team. If not what is the teaching progression. How effective would it be to teach the play action, 300, 301 and 302, 500, 501 and 510 to my kids this year and as they learn continue to add in the series passing game? Also, I have a meeting with our youth league next week. What should my goal for them be in regards to offense and defense. (I am also implimenting your multiple 40 D) Thanks coaches. Dave

Dave I think you are right on with the implementation of the passing game with the info mentioned. The key will be to work passing game with the same plays but from multiple formations. Please ask and I can help you with this along with Coach Lansdell. Coach CAmpbell
Can you explain your play action pass package (142's)? I know that the 1 means play action pass, but what does the 4 and the 2 mean in the numbering, do these numbers go with a passing tree or a passing combo grid. I note that on your combo grid the 2 is an inside/under/in/wheel/post. Also the tag word "go" applies to the 3 back, "out" applies to the x reciever, but who does the curl on the other play action pass? Sorry for all the questions.

James is right the 142 comes off of the 42 inside play off of split flow and the vertical push by the offensive line the 100 series is a play action alert for an aggressive run block to a pass set for the offensive line. Coach CAmpbell
