Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I haven't seen many teams in High School run the 1 back zone as their base ground attack. As I develope my philosophies, I really like the idea of spreading the field and having a high octane/fast break/ run and throw it where thery aren't offense. With that being said, I think the best ground attatck to match that offense out of the gun is the inside and outside zone with the speed option, trap and a couple other plays to complete the package. My question is do you think the zone play can be very effective in High School? Have you seen it 1st hand? How hard is it for the linemen to learn and for the backs to get a feel for?

Stick first hand heck I've run it for along time and very successfully, if you can teach then they can run it. How long have you been coaching and where do you coach. Coach CAmpbell
I am a head middle school coach in KY. I've helped a couple of years at the high school and have been the head coach at a middle school for 3 years. We've finished 2nd in our confrence all 3 years so I've been pretty successfull so far. I'm not far from making the jump to High School and I've kind of used the middle school to develope philosophies and gain experience in pressure situations. It's great because I've really worked hard at learning more and I feel like I go into each season with a lot more knowledge than I had the year before. I look to get your ultimate passing game in the mail any day now. Which book would be best suited at learning to teach the zone? 1 Back or Lineman manual? I would love to start e-mailing you on a personal basis after I get the manual. I've communicated with you some already on the megaclinic site under the user name CoachP. I'd like to say thank you for not only helping me in the past but for being so open to so many people. I'm really excited about this site!!

Coach I think your manual should be there today. Coach if I could recommend a manual it would be the Option Manual that will give you a good insight into all this. I certainly appreciate the kind comments its always such a pleasure me me and all so a great learning situation to exchange ideas and help coaches from around the country. Coach our intermediate schools follow my zone principles to the letter and do well, I think this whle thing comes down to how well you can install because if you know what hurts something then you know how to fix it. I'm looking forward to helping you and your program in anyway I can. So ask all the question you would like and we'll get this think done. Coach CAmpbell

Coach a problem that hurts the inside zone is coming off your combos to soon and chasing the second level defender, so its important in your drill work to keep your combos intact until the Lbers get to you. With the outside zon it usually becomes a breakdown by the running back not reading his cut back or the playside stretch properly. The term Horn Block is a term that has been around for sometime now and no I don't teach that specific tech. Coach CAmpbell
