COACH,
ESPECIALLY FOR H.S. THE BFS PROGRAM IS GREAT. IF YOU ARE TO USE THIS PROGRAM, I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU GET THE BEAT THE COMPUTER PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM RUNS ITSELF ONCE YOU INPUT BASIC INFO.

Coach,
I think the progam cost about $300. The program updates the weights for you and the people at BFS are always a great help. The program is proven and it works.

We also use the BFS and is an excellent tool for motivating and getting your kids bigger and stronger due to the ease of using the software. Coach Campbell
We have been huge on the Olympic Lifts. 5 years ago we went to the BFS Set-Rep system but used our lifts. We had to modify the workout a little. But we stayed mostly with the system as it was created.
Two years ago, we purchased the "Beat the Computer" program from BFS.
You are able to create your own program how you want it.
The program asks you if this lift is an olympic lift. They limit the olympic lift number of reps. Never more than 5 reps.
I have found it to be very helpful. Plus our kids think they are "big-time" with their workouts printed out on their own sheet.
I am the only "strength coach" at our school. I try to work out 60-80 athletes year round. I have found it very tough to effectively teach the olys. Could BFS be modified to NOT include them?
I personally love the olympic lifts, but I have found that training economy doesn't lend itself to teaching them. Thanks
We use the BFS program and really like it. I'm dropping the dead lift thought in using the rack clean (Nebraska lift) in its place. Lifters were cheating on the dead lift and were placing their lower back in a precarious position. I personally think it is a good lift.
JButler,
Use a trap bar instead of a conventional bar. This will reduce the stress on the low back and add range of motion. Every now and then change it up via...chains, or wooden blocks.
