This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I will assume you are a cover 3 team playing loose. You have to chose what you are going to give up, which is normally the flats in cover 3. We run a ton of bump man so we will look like bump man and bail late into cover 3. Teams don't try to throw short stuff against us because of it. They will check to the fade all the time and there we are all over the fade. If you never run bump man and play loose have your corners line up at 7 and hop step back 2 times on the snap. If they run a nickle you can hit it as the ball is thrown, if they try to go deep you are far enought off the ball to play deep. Most teams are not patient enought to throw nickles down the field. Also depending on what they do with the slot gives you some more options. If they don't threated the seam with the slot then have your OLB buzz the flats. If they are threating the seam then collision #2 at 8 and then work to the flat. Normally the slot will read your OLB and run the pattern based upon what he does.
