Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Anyone seen University of Reno play this year? They run from what they call "Pistol" which has the QB at 4 yds deep and the TB right behind at 6-7 yds. I only watched part of their game yesterday as they beat Fresno St. Does anyone else run this or have any information?
I saw Nevada in that formation a couple of times. It reminded me of Larry Beckish's East-West formation. If Coach Farley or Charles Wilson see this they may know how to get some more info about it as they were running Footballbooksite.com (I think) and had Coach Beckish as a contributor. They also published excerpts from 40 plus 60 equals option (his trap-option book). One of Beckish's articles (I don't know if it was in the book) was about this short shot gun. He could run trap, trap option, trap-draw, blast, sprint-draw and lots of passes from it. I think this is a great idea and would be more powerful and safer than the deeper gun formations.
