Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
What techniques or drills do you use to teach crack blocking from slots, etc. to ensure no block in the back or to simply and effectively seal the edge?
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

We tell any wide out that is cracking back to run directly at the football - this puts the blocker in a postition to block force that is coming fast to the line of scrimmage. Their first step needs to be with their inside foot at the football(snap point) - if the defender sits then the receiver can adjust upfield to block.
I tell my "crackers" to run straight at the ear hole of whoever he is cracking! TO MAKE CERTAIN HIS HEAD IS IN FRONT OF THE "CRACKEE" TO AVOID A CLIPPING CALL AND I ALSO TELL HIM TO HIT HIM HARD ENOUGH THE VERY FIRST TIME OF THE GAME TO MAKE HIM REMEMBER IT THE ENTIRE NIGHT! Believe you me, if he does that, the "crackee" will be turning his head to watch the "cracker" from then on and not waiting for some CB to yell crack! He don't want to be hit that like that again!!! When you have him looking for the "cracker", just think what a break that gives your RB to slip right by him!!!

ADDED THOUGHT: I see Lou's approach as very sound also! But, I prefer to cut my Wideouts splits down and have him run right at the "crackee" so as to get to him BEFORE the ball does. Just my way.

We give our receivers the first names of the players they will be cracking. As they close the gap and get into position to make the block, they call out the player's name. Most of the time, the player getting blocked will turn to the direction his name is called. If they do not know the name, they will call them by their jersey number.
