Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I'd like to hear from some coaches on what kind of player (all things being equal...) do you like at the 1 tech.------ a big plugger who can eat the double-team up and protect the LB's behind him or a smaller fast penetrating havoc bringer...
I would like him to do a little bit of both. He has to be a guy that makes opposing coaches say we gotta get him blocked first on every play. This most of the time will reqiure a double team and therefore shorten the LOS for LB's to control their gaps.

If he is a one tech I want the offense to have to double team him. I want him to occupy two blockers. I also want him to be a penetrator and not just a plugger. I dont want him to be a small fast penetrator however. If you can get a guy with good size and quickness that is ideal.
If I had to choose betwen 5'9'' 170 or 6'2'' 260, Ill take the size but size with quickness is ideal.

Well JAZ im sure we would all take the kid with size and speed. Just raggin ya a little.lol
It really depends on what the philosophy of your defense is. While we do play a gap control defense I prefer a kid at NG to be quick and agressive. I dont want a blob at shade who is just taking up space.
After high school your players will be taught that the main job is to keep the OL off the LB's so they can be free to make the tackle! Not so with PASS RUSHING TACKLES
