Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
coaches,
when have you found ir best to run inside zone and outside? Inside vs a 3 technique or 1, or if they are blitzing inside or out? outside zone vs a 5,7 or 9. with or without the outside invert on the line? thanks
If you perfer to run to the 1 tech side and the RB lines up to the 1 tech side, do you move the back to the other side of the QB? or leave the RB and run the play without having the RB cross the QB's face?
Also, do you always check to the 1 tech side or will you also run it to the 3 tech if that is the side the play is called for.

Must be able to have a running back to learn run to daylight principle. Inside and outside zone are to different types of plays each having the ball delivered from qb to running back differently. Coach CAmpbell
We line the RB up BEHIND the QB where he can hit EITHER side with equal effectiveness. He gets a better READ from there!!!!! RB's READS are KEY in the zone plays, and there are many ways to teach them!
Like Oneback I love to run the Zone for a One Back formation. You can always run it from an offset or regular I formation as well. I will run the Inside Zone anywhere and everywhere on the field, backed up, 2nd and Long, 1st and goal, etc. Although I prefer to run at the '1' technique I will run to both sides.
In addition I find that if you start hurting a team with the Outside Zone they became extremely vulnerable to the cutback (or Rollback) on the Inside Zone!
Coaches,
what kind of success have you had vs. a 3-3/3-5 stack with the INSIDE zone?
The most recent clinic I was at the coach said he felt that there were too many "bubbles" in this defense vs. in zone. Your thoughts and the best adjustments a 3-3/3-5 team made to it?
thanks.
Answer would still be the same! 3-3 STACK can POTENTIALLY fill with SIX men inside the OT's. Numbers are NOT very good for the IZ unless you HIT IT PERFECT! Misdirect LBers with COUNTER/POWER (angle blocking on everyone), or try the "Stretch"!
